User Doubts & FAQs

What is Rakta Setu Sikkim?
Rakta Setu is a non-profit, self-initiated welfare platform built by the youth of Sikkim. It acts as a digital directory to connect blood seekers with voluntary donors across all six districts of our state.
How do I request blood?
Once you log in to the portal, search for the required blood group and district. You can then click the "Request" button on a donor's profile. They will receive an instant notification.
Is my phone number visible to everyone?
No. To ensure privacy, your contact details are only shared with a seeker once you choose to accept their specific blood request.
What blood groups are available?
The portal covers all 8 major blood groups: A+, A-, B+, B-, O+, O-, AB+, and AB-. You can filter donors based on these groups and their respective districts.
Can I use this for non-emergencies?
While the portal is designed for urgent needs, you can use it for planned surgeries as well. However, please ensure you only contact donors through the official "Request" system.
What if I am unavailable to donate for some time?
Inside your profile, there is a "Donor Mode" toggle. You can turn it off to hide yourself from search results temporarily without deleting your account.
Is there any fee for using this service?
Absolutely not. Rakta Setu is 100% free and voluntary. We do not accept or facilitate any payments for blood donation. It is a strictly humanitarian project.
